SylWrap Pipe Repair & Refurbishment Training Course
Sylmasta provide a comprehensive SylWrap Pipe Repair & Refurbishment Training Course for contractors, installers and distributors at their learning centre in the south of England.
The course takes one day to complete and is based around the four-stage SylWrap Pipe Refurbishment System (SPRS). Participants are trained on using the products within the SPRS to repair, strengthen and protect pipelines and critical infrastructure.
Sylmasta technicians deliver the course through a mix of demonstrations and practical work on test pipes, including making a live leak repair on the high-pressure SylWrap Pipe Repair Rig.
The fully air-conditioned training room at Sylmasta HQ has a capacity for 12 participants per session. Modules include:
- Offline and live leak pipe repairs using epoxy putty and Wrap & Seal Pipe Burst Tape
- Reprofiling and rebuilding weakened pipelines
- Corrosion protection via epoxy coatings
- Wrapping a pipe for reinforcement with a SylWrap composite bandage
Sylmasta also offer a specialist course on making ASME PCC-2 compliant composite repairs using the SylWrap Pipe Refurbishment System.
ASME PCC-2 is an important standard for industries where high pressure systems and hazardous pipe content are present. It provides guidance for the repair of pressure-retaining equipment and piping after it has gone into service.
