Pipe Repair Epoxy Paste
Titanium Supergrade HT is an alloy-reinforced epoxy paste with very high compressive strength and extreme temperature resistance formulated for repair, strengthening and protection of pipe systems exposed to conditions up to 250°C.
Where a pipe exterior has been weakened or degraded, Titanium Supergrade HT is applied to rebuild wall thickness. It fills in damage caused by impact and pitting, restores surface profile and returns degraded pipelines to original specification.
Titanium Supergrade HT contains corrosion-resistant metal platelets. When applied to a pipe, it cures to a metallic, highly-toughened outer shell which offers excellent protection to the original substrate from corrosion and chemical attack in aggressive environments.
This shell also acts an impermeable membrane, preventing and containing breaches caused by internal corrosion. Titanium Supergrade HT improves adhesion between the pipe surface and a composite wrap like SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage, increasing the effectiveness of the repair.
Titanium Supergrade HT is effective on pipes made of all metals and most plastics. It has an extremely light consistency, making it easier to mix than stiffer epoxy pastes. It is virtually odourless and is thixotropic, so will not sag.
A work time of three hours makes Titanium Supergrade HT suitable for the most complex of applications at higher ambient temperatures. Significant quantities can be mixed and applied over large areas without the threat of premature curing.
How to repair and protect pipework using Titanium Supergrade HT
Before the application of Titanium Supergrade High Temperature Pipe Repair Epoxy Paste, surfaces should be free of paint, rust and grime. Pipework should also be roughened up through either grit blasting or grinding with a coarse wheel or abrasive disk pad.
Titanium Supergrade HT should be applied as soon as possible after the preparation procedure is completed. Part A and Part B are mixed together in the instructed ratio.
A putty knife is used to spread the epoxy paste over the area requiring repair, pressing it firmly into the pipework to ensure maximum surface contact and avoid trapping air.
As soon as Titanium Supergrade HT has been applied, a SylWrap Bandage should be applied over the top. SylWrap will provide a rock-hard, impact resistant protective layer with temperature resistance matching the repair further strengthening the weakened area.
To achieve maximum temperature resistance up to 250°C, Titanium HT Supergrade should undergo post-curing. Please consult the Technical Data Sheet for information.
