Superfast Titanium Epoxy Putty Stick

Superfast Titanium is an epoxy putty in a 114g stick with a special formulation to repair high temperature pipework exposed to conditions up to 280°C.

It is titanium-filled and bonds with most materials. It repairs blow holes and stripped threads. Superfast Titanium seals cracks and leaking joints in steam pipes, tanks, vessels, engines and other high temperature systems. Repairs are pressure resistant to 30 bar.

Superfast Titanium also rebuilds small areas of damage, restoring pipeline integrity by increasing the thickness of sections weakened by corrosion and other forms of attack. It can reprofile pipes by filling pitting and smoothing out difficult shapes, like edges and steps.

As well as temperature extremes, Superfast Titanium is resistant to chemicals, water and does not rust. It contains no solvents or VOC’s, is non-flammable and releases no noxious fumes. Any unused putty stays fresh for future use when saved in its original packaging.

Unlike most other suppliers of pipe repair products, Sylmasta make all their own epoxy putty sticks using the latest manufacturing technology at their production plant in the United Kingdom. This guarantees fresh product, a reliable supply chain and reduced lead times.

About

How to make a high temperature pipe repair with Superfast Titanium Epoxy Putty Stick

Superfast Titanium Stick comes pre-measured with the correct 1:1 ratio of resin to hardener. The user simply cuts the required amount of putty from the stick and kneads by hand.

The two contrasting colours blend into a golden brown, titaniumn colour to indicate successful mixing. Whilst Superfast Titanium Epoxy Putty is still soft, the user then pushes it into the crack or hole in the high temperature pipework.

Superfast Titanium has a work time of approximately 90 minutes before it hardens to form a solid, watertight material sealing the hole. It achieves working strength in eight hours and a full cure with maximum properties in 72 hours.

When pipe reprofiling or rebuilding damage by increasing the outer wall thickness of weakened sections, the user presses Superfast Titanium firmly onto the area requiring improvement. It cures to create a flat, smooth surface.

Once cured, Superfast Titanium can be tapped, drilled, screwed, sawed, machined, ground, filed or painted to create a seamless finish uniform with the pipe undergoing repair.

Reinforcement with SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage

Sylmasta recommend reinforcing repairs made with Superfast Titanium where operational temperatures are up to 250°C by overwrapping the epoxy putty with a SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage.

SylWrap HD is a water-activated composite wrap. It sets rock-hard in minutes to form an impact resistant layer of protection covering Superfast Titanium for a permanent repair.

How to mix and apply an epoxy putty stick for quick and easy pipe repair

This general instructional video shows the best method to thoroughly mix and apply an epoxy putty stick.

The required amount of putty is cut from the stick. It is kneaded by constantly rolling and folding between the palms of the hands for at least four minutes.

Once the putty has turned a streak free and a uniform colour, it is ready to be applied to the pipe.
