The SylWrap Standard Pipe Repair Kit enables any user to make a permanent, composite repair to leaking pipework where pressure is off by following a simple two-stage process.
Repairs can be completed in under 30 minutes to pipes of all sizes made of steel, stainless steel, copper, malleable iron, GRP, ceramic, most plastics, clay, concrete, rubber and lead.
The Kit seals leaks on difficult elbow joints, tee joints, welded joints and other challenging, non-straight pipe sections – offering a flexible alternative to heavy, bulky pipe repair clamps.
Repairs are pressure resistant up to 30 bar, temperature resistant to 200ºC and effective on pipes carrying hot water and chemicals. It has WRAS Approval, meaning it is certified to British standards as safe to use on pipes carrying drinking water.

How to fix a leaking pipe with a SylWrap Standard Pipe Repair Kit
The SylWrap Standard Pipe Repair Kit contains Superfast Steel Epoxy Putty and a SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage for a two-stage repair.
Superfast Steel is a fast-working epoxy putty in a pre-measured stick. Users knead the putty by hand until it turns a uniform grey colour before pushing it into holes and cracks in pipework whilst still soft.
Within 5-10 minutes, Superfast Steel hardens to form a solid, watertight material filling the hole. Superfast Steel also removes step from joints and improves the condition of pitted pipe surfaces prior to the application of SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage.
When pipe reprofiling, Superfast Steel is pressed firmly onto the area requiring improvement. It creates a flat, smoother surface which is easier to wrap with the bandage.
The second stage of the repair is reinforcement with SylWrap HD. Wetting the bandage activates the resin. SylWrap HD is then wrapped around the pipe and smoothed with water. It sets within 5 minutes to provide a rock-hard, impact-resistant layer of protection for a permanent repair.

3mm pinhole in 100mm stainless steel pipe no pressure repair
A demonstration video filmed at Sylmasta HQ. A 3mm pinhole was drilled into a 100mm stainless steel pipe with pressure turned off.
Firstly, Superfast Epoxy Putty was kneaded by hand and applied over the hole in the pipe. The putty quickly set to seal the leak. Secondly, SylWrap HD was wrapped over the top for added reinforcement.
After the repair, a pressure test showed the pipe withstanding an increase up to 30 bar with no sign of leakage or deformation.
